The Landes-Gewerbeförderungsstelle des nordrhein-westfälischen Handwerks (LGH) is a joint service institution set up both by the chambers and the confederations of skilled trades (“Handwerk”) in the German federal state of North-Rhine Westphalia (NRW). We support these organizations as well as the SMEs in this important economic sector. In the field of SME promotion, we can look back on 50 years of practical experience. Just as our motto says, we offer SME organizations competence, advice, service.
Many of our activities have made us a proven partner for the government of NRW and for the European Union: We advise and assist them in their efforts to promote SMEs. We conduct projects which serve as a model for strengthening the potential, competitiveness and the success of SMEs. Furthermore, we manage promotional activities on behalf of the state government and the EU. During the period 2000 through 2002, for example, NRW and the EU entrusted us with more than 125 million Euros.
